Who we are
We are a couple, Chichi and Oskar and we founded Makagi in 2021.
Chichi's Nigerian roots coined the name Makagi. We both share a passion for interiors and extraordinary designs.

How everything began
In 2020, after a year of pandemic, it became increasingly clear that we didn't feel right about our jobs.
On the search for new inspiration and other creative development opportunities, Chichi discovered the body candles and immediately fell in love with the extraordinary designs. So Makagi was born to make these amazing candles himself.
The designs focus on femininity and show the diversity and uniqueness of each person. Here, female empowerment is combined with modern art.
After a few tries, we mastered our production process and handcrafted hundreds of candles. In this way we were able to bring joy to many wonderful people.
We are sustainable
As a young company, we want to act as sustainably and environmentally friendly as possible. All of our Makagi candles are made from high-quality soy wax, which is biodegradable. In addition, our ingredients are free from animal testing.
For our packages we have decided to only use plastic-free and recycled packaging. To reduce waste, all of our candles are made in small batches. In this way, Makagi contributes to minimizing waste and saving resources.
